The Hairpin, a popular women’s interest website that ran from 2010 to 2018, has been turned into an AI content farm after its domain was not renewed and purchased by a Serbian DJ. The new owner, Nebojša Vujinović Vujo, admits that most of the site’s new posts are generated using AI and plans to add back the previous authors in the future. The Hairpin was known for its iconic post “Women laughing alone with salad” and was a launching pad for notable writers. It’s unclear how the new owner gained access to the site’s content, and the former publishers of The Hairpin have sent a letter to the domain’s new owner stating that they did not purchase the website, only the domain name.
AI makes women laugh alone with entertaining, spam-free content.
