Dell Technologies and Nokia have announced a strategic partnership to advance network cloud transformation and private 5G. As part of the partnership, Nokia will adopt Dell as its preferred infrastructure partner for existing Nokia AirFrame customers. Dell will offer its technology, including PowerEdge servers, as the infrastructure of choice for telecom cloud deployments. Furthermore, Dell will adopt Nokia as its preferred private wireless partner for enterprise edge use cases, integrating Nokia’s Digital Automation Cloud (NDAC) private wireless solution with Dell NativeEdge to provide a comprehensive, scalable solution for enterprises. The companies will also continue joint research and development efforts in the Dell Open Telecom Ecosystem Lab.

The partnership between Dell and Nokia aims to advance open network architectures in the telecom ecosystem, as well as private 5G use cases among businesses. Nokia will transition its existing AirFrame customers to Dell’s infrastructure portfolio, while Dell will benefit from Nokia’s experience in designing, deploying, and operating high-performance public and private mobile networks. Through the partnership, the companies will collaborate to scale modern telecom networks and provide solutions to help communications service providers transition their networks to the cloud. The partnership also aims to address future customer needs brought on by increasing demands on networks. The Dell Open Telecom Ecosystem Lab will serve as a platform for joint research and development efforts, including platform and application testing and lifecycle management. Additionally, Dell and Nokia plan to certify workloads on Dell Telecom Infrastructure Blocks and collaborate on original equipment manufacturer engagements.
