AT&T has joined forces with L&T Technology Services to address global emissions by combining resources and expertise. The partnership will focus on developing advanced solutions to minimize environmental impact significantly. L&T Technology Services will be part of AT&T’s Connected Climate Initiative (CCI), which aims to use connectivity solutions like IoT, fiber, 5G, and edge computing to reduce greenhouse emissions by one gigaton by 2035.

Shannon Carroll, AVP of Global Environmental Sustainability at AT&T, emphasized the importance of collaborations like this in achieving emission reduction goals. This news comes on the heels of a recent major cellular outage caused by an internal error at AT&T, which disrupted services across telecom providers, including Verizon and T-Mobile. AT&T has since resolved the issue and apologized to customers, reassuring them that steps are being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Despite the outage, AT&T’s shares closed lower by 2.41% on Thursday. The company continues to focus on environmental initiatives and sustainability efforts through partnerships like the one with L&T Technology Services.
